Thirteen Things about this Picture
1. This is a picture of me getting sworn in to be an Oklahoma Attorney. Here, I am taking the Oath of Attorneys.
2. This picture signifies the love and support of my parents. From grade K through this day they have supported me emotionally and financially. Without them I doubt it would have been possible for me to accomplish this goal. And, if it was possible, it definitely would have been so much harder than it already was.
3. This picture represents hours upon hours upon hours of studying during law school.
4. This picture represents dozens of missed social engagements and time with my family so that I could study.
5. This picture represents discipline.
6. This picture represents the effect that one of our law school Deans had on my life. She encouraged me to break through the women's glass ceiling and reach for all of my dreams, notwithstanding the incredible male dominance of the legal world.
7. This picture represents passing the Oklahoma bar. Even before the holiday season of 2005 began I spent a minimum of 10 hours a day studying for this two day Febuary exam. I took classes that lasted until 10 o'clock at night and then came home and studied some more.
8. This picture represents the support of my husband while I was studying for the Oklahoma bar exam. He took care of every meal for me, made sure Little-Girl was as quiet as a mouse, did all the house work and if I got a chance to nap he made sure I was up as soon as the alarm went off to begin studying again. He was also an ever present "you'll pass for sure" when I was studying for the bar exam.
9. This picture represents my responsibility to uphold the United States and Oklahoma Constitutions.
10. This picture represents the new suit I am wearing.
11. This picture represents that I can do anything I want to do.
12. This picture represents the end of an era. I am through with school, studying and everything that goes with that.
13. This picture represents the beginning of an era. I love being able to say I'm an attorney after all of these years.

Awesome, just awesome!!! (Do you represent all our favorite pets too? Well, now don't go getting upset....I love my furry friends and maybe some poor neighborhood pet would be in a suing mode when my 'wittle' Winston catcheds HIS mouse!! ------just kidding!!!) I think this picture represents a heckuva lot more than 13 things!!! All over---the ambiance of the room, I feel a great pride from YOU and I bet your parents also!!!
Come by and pick up any or all of my T 13 banners-headers!!
Woo Hoo....you go girl. So proud of all your hard work and discipline. My TT is up and it smells!
You go girl!
Look at you looking all lawyerly! So can I get free legal advice now? Ha ha. Congratulations!!!!!!
What a wonderful, WONDERFUL 13! So full of gratitude and acknowledgement of your achievements.
Each one built upon the other - just wow. Nicely done.
I cannot IMAGINE putting so much effort into something as focused as that. The only time I went really over and above was studying for a final that I had to get an A on to get a C for the course and not have to take it again (it was in my major and I had to get a C). It was hard as hell (Behavorial Pharmacology, as I recall). But I did it and I was proud of myself.
You? Multiply that by infinity - and be so proud of what you've set your mind to and accomplished!
happy thursday!
Congratulations!!!! You're going to make a terrific lawyer!
I know, because I work for two of them.
Wish I could dress as well as you. *SIGH*

Wow, I am really late for replying to TT's, but better late than never. I had so much trouble commenting on Thursday. I learned so much about you today. First, didn't know you were an attorney. That is so impressive! You have worked very hard. Second, didn't know you were Vegan. A lot of self control there. This was a great TT, photos do say a thousand words. Have a great weekend!
A wonderful post for a fabulous event. Congratulations--I hope you will make the world a better place. Sounds like your parents gave you a good start.
