Happy Friday!

Here's hoping everyone has a cupcake-alicious weekend!

I do have one quick story to tell. We went to a locally owned and I guess, locally famous pizza parlour tonight about 20 minutes from our house. The joint was packed with only one waitress working the floor. She wasn't really rude, but she was definitely not an example of politeness either. About 3/4 of the way through dinner I started thinking about her tip and I realized something. We all expect people to cut us slack when we are having a bad day, but I usually don't provide the same slack to waiters and waitresses helping me in a restaurant. I guess I just always figured that part of their job was acting pleased to see me. But, when I looked at the almost 100 people she was waiting on, by herself, tonight my attitude changed. Then I started thinking about all the ways I can make everybody's day more enjoyable no matter where I am or what I am doing. I guess it just boils down to "Lisa, be kind to others," but for me personally it becomes easy to just focus on my family and myself. My goal is to start trying harder to focus on making a good day for strangers too.

As always, hugs, love and chihuahua kisses.

Thirteen Things I Use in My Beauty Regimen

1. Proactiv Solution. This three step skin care system does everything it says it will. I didn't try it until I was in my first year of law school, and even then my mom had to make me because I was so skeptical. I've used it ever since. It really does work and it really is consistent.

2. bareMinerals. I just started using this a few weeks ago. I couldn't get a liquid foundation that also had a UVA/UVB sunscreen to cover the discolorations I have before I used Proactiv. This works, also against my skeptiskim, and my husband goes on and on about how beautiful and natural my skin looks.

3. Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock. Its light and airy and doesn't leave you feeling as if you are slathered in grease. It really does cool, just like the label says, so I love to use it to cool down after a nice hot shower. I am able to cover my entire body in sunscreen everyday in less than 1 minute, thus protecting against skin cancer and wrinkles.

4. Origins, A Perfect World for Eyes. I can't tell if this stuff is working yet, but it sure is fun to play with skin care stuff and the sales pitch sure is convincing.

5. Origins, A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian. Same as #4, except I also put this on my neck.

6. Origins, A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisurizer with White Tea. This product is supposed to work with numbers 4 & 5 to provide the most benefit from environmental damage to the skin.

7. Vaseline Intensive Care Renewal Age Redefining Body Lotion. Lately, my skin just itches off from dryness and this stuff is cheap, isn't tested on animals, and stops my itching.

8.
Colgate Total toothpaste, a Crest SpinBrush, and floss. This combo keeps the plaque factory I call teeth under control and trips to the dentist non-eventful.

9. Bare Escentuals wandless mascara. Not tested on animals and leaves no clumps once you get the hang of having no bristles on the wand.

10. Origins eyeliner.

11. Origins Underwear for Lids eyeshadow in. I used to be quite loud with my eye makeup and then toned it down after living in D.C. This is the perfect neutral shade.

12. Origins, Checks and Balances. This has a fun foamy lather and doesn't strip my skin so I use it to take my makeup off before using my Proactiv.

13. ACT anticavitiy mouthwash.

Another, Another new friend

Hey guys. Tzeitel & Belicia have been begging me to link their doggie friend Snickers. You can visit little Snickerdoodles here or on click on the link under Princess' Picks. Hugs, love and chihuahua kisses

Another New Friend

Hey everyone. Please join me in welcoming my newest internet friend, Heather, to the Pink Chihuahua Princess community. Check out her blog and comment if you wish.

Today is Chloe's class picture day so I got to braid her hair into two braids for her. She loves to wear it this way, but is at that age where she wants to do EVERYTHING for herself no matter what she ends up looking like. Thus, braids rarely occur. But, I love it when they do because it makes me feel very momish. And I enjoy that.

Happy "last Tae Kwon Do lesson for the week"--um--I mean Wednesday for everyone else. :) Hugs, love and chihuahua kisses.

Rudeness at Souper Salad

So, yesterday we went to eat at Souper Salad after the niece and nephew went home. We all wanted a relaxing dining experience, so we waited long enough for all the little kids in the church crowd to be gone. What we weren't planning for was rude adults.

So I have my plate on my tray and am getting ready to dish up some yummy lettuce when some guy reaches across my tray with his sleeve all in my plate to get another plate. I was so appalled that my natural curtness was uncontrollable. I said, "Excuse me!" And he still didn't realize that draping his sleeve across my plate was less than fashionable. Do they have finishing school for poorly dressed thirty something dudes?

New Friends and a New Purse

New Friend: I want to call everybody's attention to the new link The Sassy Lime. Its a really great blog, and its pink! Visit it and comment on her stuff if you wish.

New Purse: I've wanted this purse in Target ever since the Luella Bartley line came to Target. It was $34.99 and as you can see is maybe a little to casual for my lifestyle for me to pay $34.99. Then, I went in and the cute and little bag was on sale for $8.74. It even says "Princess" on it, and has all these cute front pockets for my cell phone and camera. Hugs, love and chihuahua kisses

5. My Chihuahuas.

6. My health.

7. My Princess crown ring from my parents.

8. That I have recently become close with Melissa again after a few years of losing contact!

9. Music from Johnny Cash. Just got another CD tonight at Hastings.

10. My education. It has made me who I am today by altering the way I view the world. Law school was horribly hard, but I am so incredibly thankful for the way it matured my mind.

12. I'm thankful that my friend Heather loves Indian Food.

13. I'm thankful for my Kappa Phi friends. Through college, lawschool, marriage, being a mom, a summer in D.C., two cancer scares, old boyfriends, hayrides, and a serious battle with depression you guys have loved me through it all and been steadfast. Even now, years after my Degree of the Rose, joining Kappa Phi has been one of the best decisions of my life!

Hey to all the blog reading peeps! Where did everybody go since I moved? I think that I have successfully changed the settings so that you no longer have to be a blogspot person to "Crown Me" in comments. I promised Chloe that I would tell everybody that she has updated her blog. You can visit it and comment here.

In other news, I was wondering if anybody feels like a fat cow with their ass in the air when they are trying to stretch at the gym after working out? I don't care how skinny you are, sticking it in the air is just not pleasant except in procreational activities.

We've been frantically cleaning the clutter that we call a shanty this week in expectation of Chloe having her first Norman sleepover on Friday. I'm really excited and can't wait to scrapbook it. I also bought the chihuahuas a new outfit today. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow. I also saw this in Target today and decided it would be a really good investment.

Hugs, love and chihuahua kisses--Lis
