The best 9th doggie birthday...ever!

The birthday pawty was spectacular. I was over the Pink Plague enough that I was at least able to enjoy it and take some cute pictures. We were planning a big pawty with my best friend's dog, my MIL's dog and my mom's three dogs, but because of the Pink Plague it was just my girls and Romeo. The vanilla ice cream was a big hit, and you can see the blanket that Tzeitel got.

Rubber Ducky...You're the One...

We all have to take a bath sometimes. Even the most beautiful doggies in the world get dirty. Monday, whew! When I got home from work, my girls smelled...well, lets just say they were less than "fresh." I'm not really sure what happened from that morning at 6:30 a.m. until 4p.m., but things got out of control. I thought I would post how happy Tzeitel looked during her bath. ;P.

You may have to click on the pictures to enlarge them to get the full effect of her delight.

Staying Sane

Lately, its become very obvious how busy my life is. I am a fervant believer and follower of Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah. I own a very busy law firm where I wear all the hats, I'm a newlywed and a new step-mom. His kids are very little so they take extra energy.

I'd like to pause here to say that I never said I wasn't happy. I am deliciously thrilled with my life, and its more of a perfect fairy tale than I ever imagined when I was planning it all out with my friends in second grade recess. Notwithstanding, its still busy. So, everyday I do a few things to keep sanity high on my list.

1. Most days I spend quiet time with the Lord.

2. I make hubby a priority. We have a saying around here. I am a believer first, a wife second and a lawyer third. Hubby is my second priority and I'm his second priority. No matter what! I kill myself getting things done and not wasting time when I'm in the office so that nighttime is just ours. Sometimes work happens at night for both of us. But I work very hard to make 5:00p.m. until bedtime his time.

3. I clean. I'm a cleaning fanatic. When I lived in an apartment I was super messy. Having a home that's yours changes all that. I'm cleaning wash boards, using a toothpick around the edges of the cabinets and comet is my new bff. I will say, though, I think I live in the dustiest house in America. This thing makes bunnies overnight!

4. Blogging. I've starting blogging again because it is such a release for me. I've really missed my blogosphere friends and its time in the day that's just mine.

5. I made the purse mine, and mine only. No one can get in it. Not even my precious hubby. Not even the girls. ;) It gives me my own personal space, which those of you with children know is vital and precious.

What do you do to keep sane?

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's

That's right kids. Its that time again. Time for taxes, and let me tell you that its that much trickier when you own your own business. In fact, its a nightmare. Which, is basically all my fault because I don't keep up with things very well during the year and so it takes me two or three days to put all my receipts and everything together.

I know, I know...if I just did it little by little during the year I wouldn't have these problems. But, really, I'm so responsible in all areas of my life I have to have an area where I'm kind of a slacker.

The Parisian Jewish Quarter

Husband and I spent quite a bit of time in the Jewish Quarter after we had finished doing all the touristy stuff in Paris. It was wonderful!!! We bought a Challah cover and plate, and ate the best food of our whole trip to Paris. I think we ate our weight in the Kosher Patisseries.

Look at all that Challah in the picture! It was so delicious! Husband and I shared a loaf even though it wasn't Shabbat. It had sesame seeds on the top of it, which is different than what we are used to back home. The Kosher pizza in Paris is delicious, although we never saw this particular restaurant open.

Finally, see husband pretending that he wrote those Star of David chalkings on the wall? What's funny about that is that the police walked by right after we took that picture and they stared and stared trying to figure out what to do. Luckily they must have been familiar with that area and new the chalkings had been there awhile.

Controlling my tongue

The Bible says to control your tongue...to speak few words. Well, today, I'm doing just that. Several weeks ago my very lazy sister-in-law informed us that she was tired of her 1.5 year old dog. This dog is hyper, but very cute and precious. He even rings a doorbell with his nose when he needs to go potty. She and her husband wanted to get rid of him because they didn't want to waste their time training him not to run around the house. They do have a 9 month old baby, but he was always very gentle around her.

Anyway, we made it V.E.R.Y. clear we would take the dog and N.O.T. to put him down or anything like that. My mother in law informs me last night that mean dog-killing sister-in-law had her dad take him to the pound last week. Husband and I are distraught. We called this morning first thing and the pound said they only keep the dogs 3 days. Husband is going by just in case.

To make matters worse, we have since found out that another family also offered to take the dog from mean ol' sister-in-law. Its almost as if she wanted to put the dog down. Two different families (that we know of) had offered to take the dog and she still had her dad take him to the pound. I'm just hoping he got adopted, or picked up by one of the no-kill shelters because he was young and cute.

I feel as though I should be mad, but I'm really just hurt and very, very sad. For those of you that have read this blog before the hiatus of falling in love and getting married, you know that I love, love, love dogs.

Please be responsible pet owners, peeps.
